How is Extract Strength Measured ?
Extract strength is expressed as the weight of raw herb extracted into a known volume of liquid. It is usually written as a ratio such as 1:2 or 1:5, or as milligrams per millilitre.
This means that:
a 1:2 extract has 1gm of herb extracted into 2ml of liquid or 500mg/ml,
a 1:5 extract has 1gm of herb extracted into 5ml of liquid or 200mg/ml
